The third graders finished up their reader's theater unit by presenting their stories to some early childhood and Little School friends.
March 2017
In order to get some good book suggestions before spring break, the third graders participated in a class of "speed booking". Each student spent two minutes with 10 different titles, by the end of the class they had a list of books that they were interested in reading. The recommendations and excitement were amazing!

We are beginning Readers Theater in library this month. Readers Theater is an integrated approach for involving students in reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities. It involves children in….

We have been reading books by authors and illustrators who are coming to the Rhode Island Festival of Children's Books and Authors this month. One of our favorite books was illustrated by Sophie Blackall and it won the Caldecott this year (it also won our mock Caldecott that we held in the 2nd grade), it is Finding Winnie...

The third graders have been working to get ready for Bob Shea to visit our school. They prepared a fabulous launch party with cupcakes, a green carpet, a signing station and more. Although Bob Shea was not able to visit because of the snow, we hope to see him at Lincoln in early March...stay tuned for a date. Here are some fun pictures of the girls getting ready for the launch.
